Almost up to 4,000 words on 6/6/18

One of my Scrabble goals is to use every single word in the Official Scrabble Dictionary in an "official" game - meaning ones I play online at the Internet Scrabble Club (aka Wordbiz)  and ones I play in tournaments.

I try to record the games I play at my own Scrabble Club in Cheyenne which meets Wednesday nights, but I usually forget to bring my notebook along. I will have to get my ducks in a row on that because, being faced with having to use over 100,000 words, I need to be able to count all the words I can.

Since December 2018 I've used slightly less than 4,000 words, so only 96,000 and a bit more to go.

I record all the words I use in a notebook and  then highlight them in my master Dictinary.  I used orange for the words I used in December 2017, and switched to yellow for all the words I've used in 2018. When 2019 comes around, I'll switch to blue, and so on.

also input them into an Excel file. I'm keeping track of the number of times I use every word - some I've used only once so far, the two letter words like ZA and QI, almost a hundred each by now.

If only I had time to spend all day playing Scrabble, honing my skills. But as a freelance writer who needs to earn money, I only have a couple of hours each day although I do take more than that on occasion!

Official Scrabble Tournaments
My next goal is to WIN my division (C Division) at the Loveland Colorado tournament in September.

Unfortunately, it all depends on the tiles. As I think I blogged here earlier, I lost all 8 games at the tournament in Monument because for all 8 games I got lousy tiles. All vowels or all consonants. If I did get a mixture, it would be Us and Is and Js and crap like that, nothing that meshed together.

And that was for ALL eight games!

But, I shall increase my word knowledge, and let the tiles fall where they may.
